Yeah that was a mild issue for me. Seemed like more major characters should've died in that movie (not just necessarily that scene). I too loved the way Cap was written out. The internet has pointed out that it flies in the face of the rules of time travel that were laid out earlier in the film, to that I say "shut the hell up. Don't think about it too hard. Cap is the man, let him have his life!"

Hawkeye, being a normal human, had no business surviving that attack but I'm glad he did. He was a relatively nothing character to me in these films but I thought he was a total bad@ss in this one.
