I never thought those things weren’t possible, so I don’t think Buzz taught


Us those things. It’s hard to say what we learned FROM him. He certainly brought plenty of good sound bites. For me, Seth proved you could win in the ACC at VT. I never doubted that you could, but he was the first to prove it.

I argue that Buzz didn’t build a program. He reinvigorated a fan base and brought success in the process, but I honestly have a hard time giving him props on building a program. To me he built (or continued to build) his brand and it was ultimately a means to and end.

Also, please don’t take it that I didn’t like the guy, or I am bitter. I wish him nothing but the best, and will root for him as a coach. I don’t begrudge him for not being Frank Beamer. Few coaches get to land their dream job and stay and have success for a long time. Good luck to Buzz, maybe he finally found Home.
