Players that need Tommy John surgery typically do as a result of year-round
play and/or general overuse, or do to throwing to many junk pitches, or throwing them incorrectly. Pitchers can throw 90+ all day long (within pitch count limits). The problems arise when either they're pitching spring, summer and fall, or they try to switch off an 75 mph fastball with a poorly thrown curve.
The fact he can throw a baseball 94 mph in no way indicates he'll have any arm troubles down the road.
This board should be melting down that he'll want to run track and play baseball during spring football practice. get your worrying straight.
