but I wouldn't have worded it that they didn't pan out. To not pan out means they just didn't cut it to me - boy, aren't we picky here? Both guys put it on the line as freshmen, contributed (especially against Ohio State)and then got injured before that first season was even over for them. They kind of "got derailed" (and as you mean, that hurt us and still hurts today) in the same sense as Gayle Sayers after his knee injury.

It would be nice to see Beck contribute with his speed and King and Feaster fill out the stable full of studs.
