NFL Network had the Alliance of American Football Contract.

They lost that when the league went belly up. So the NFL Network has been interested in additional live content for a while now. There is more room on Saturdays for other games. So perhaps another conference like the Mountain West could join C-USA. One of the MWC's concerns has been game times. This might be a solution for them.
