Even though the article makes it appear that football is the issue,


I believe this statement shows it isn't just a "football issue."

"Perhaps the most telling was a tidbit from Football Scoop, which noted that St. Thomas won the department-wide Learfield Directors Cup in 2017-18 by more than 250 points."

When a league or conference has 1 team that starts to dominate in all sports, then maybe it is time for that team to find a better league (i.e. move up to DII). If St Thomas wishes to remain in DIII, then its choices may be limited to American Rivers Conference, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Midwest Conference, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, or become an Independent.
