Not so meaningless in this case
Frank had a number of seasons where we started off slowly or with a disappointing loss only to finish strong. I remember in particular his first 'great' year where we lost our first two games including to Cincinnati at home and finished out with 9 wins in a row, beat a good UVA squad and finally beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl to finish 10th in the country. There were other seasons similar to that as well.
