For those that have asked about University Hall in the past,

it will be gone within the next 24 hours. The rest of it is scheduled to be blown up and demolished. I have mixed emotions about this as this is the basketball arena I identify with from school, and I'm a historic preservationist at heart. But the UVA athletic department didn't find another use for it.

Someone wrote a pretty good article about this including some memories. I remember the women's basketball game with free hot dogs from 1986 well that the article talks about. I was at the game. We had people in all the aisles and all over the place. The fire marshall had a fit.

Sad to see it go, but this is progress I guess.
