Thompson’s gift was to combine brilliant style
with real depth and analysis. Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail is one of the best books about American politics ever written, for example. He never let the (well, until the acid took hold outside of Barstow) stylistics overtake the story and content. I can always understand Thompson.
That’s not true for bourbonstreet. The cutie-pie nonsense buries the content. That’s why I quit reading his articles. It’s like having a three year old describe the tax code.
