Arsenal contempt aside, that was an important game math-wise for Spurs.
If Arsenal as EPL 5th team had won (and squeeked into the UCL), they would have automatically claimed a Pot 1 spot as Europa League holders, forcing Chelsea (already qualified) down to Pot 2. In that case, Spurs (with a loss in the UCL final) could have slipped to Pot 3. That could have resulted in a very poor draw for 2020.
