Can't ask much more of Spurs. In an injury-plagued, makeshift season...
... they still achieved the unexpected, even miraculously seeing off City in the UCL. They played multiple styles in the various short-handed spells, and as a result this group developed more mental toughness than we've seen from previous Spurs teams. And despite losing a raft of EPL games, they still stayed afloat in-league.
If Spurs can stay the course and hope for better health, the next few years should be great. If Pochettino goes, that will be an open job that a lot of good managers would like to have. If Poch stays, sky's the limit.
Offensively, I think Son and Moura probably would like to stay at Tottenham, and they will be around for awhile. Maybe Kane too -- I think he's showing signs of being injury-prone, maybe this will lessen his value and let him stay at Spurs! And believe it or not, I think Llorente has earned his money the last third of the year.
Midfield is where Levy needs to spend his money. If Eriksen and/or Alli have bad stretches, the offense tends to fail. And they have both been very hot-and-cold this season. A great playmaker or two to either augment or replace those guys is the current need.
And let's give Sissoko a raise. He's one guy that gives off the bad boy enforcer kind of vibe that is rare on this type of team -- yet he's a real player as well.
