My most recent round of golf was Friday and it was on a lovely Donald Ross course from the 1920s. That kind of experience and test of your game (even a sucky game such as mine) is several universes above Topgolf. There is no reason any golfer should waste their time in that kind of environment.

I feel much more conciliatory toward the modern versions of golf video games, and even of swing simulators. Those games have gotten mighty realistic and let me travel to famous places I'd never have access to otherwise.

Heck, this coming week the US Open is at Pebble. The WGT version of Pebble is fairly good. It'll be entertaining to sit with two computers -- watch the Open on one, hit some shots on the other! Eff Topgolf.
