The media serves us what we want to read and little more.The purveyors are not particularly more knowledgeable about the subject than we readers are (unless the subject is journalism), so anything you get from daily news should be assumed to be a thinly researched digest of the actual issue. Rather than railing on about how much the media sucks, just recognize that if you care about something you're going to have to do your own digging. "Reports like this" are gateways, not final words.
