The PAC12 contract isn't up yet with ESPN/Fox
ESPN had made an offer to take over the PAC12 Networks if the PAC12 signed up for a long term Tier 1 deal. They didn't, and the circulating rumor I've seen on other boards and bantered by the Dudes of WV and Minnesota say that ESPN was turned down because Larry Scott is talking with Turner Sports about bidding for Saturday afternoon football games when the current contract runs out. They can't do for several more years though. Nothing committed.
There is a push by PAC12 coaches to cut back on the late night Saturday football games. I think it would be a good idea to get in front of East Coast audiences. I don't know how much Turner Sports would pay though. Turner has 3 channels (TBS, TNT, and truTV) that are just showing old movies on Saturday afternoons. So they have the time slots.
