I was thinking this is tied into the ACC Network.

Casey Wasserman is CEO of The Wasserman Group who was the Media Consultant that John Swofford hired to work with the ACC on the ACC Network. I don't know if they worked with Casey Wasserman himself, but they worked with his company. He would have a lot of inside information about how the ACC Network is going to work.

If he's pushing for UCLA to look at the ACC, it's because he thinks that the ACC Network will be very successful. And we know that the PAC12 Networks is basically not working. Plus the academic elites on the coasts of the country would be interested in collaboration. They look down their noses at fly over country. The ACC is the second most prestigious Academic Conference behind only the Ivy League. And the Ivy League is not involved with FBS football.

The travel would be insane, but we'd have to have a separate West Division of 5 (i.e UCLA, USC, Stanford, UC Berkley, Texas-Austin). And they would need to play most of the during the week stuff with each other.
