Japan is helping him play on a more regular basis.

I've noticed he's usually not good the first tournament after a break. With Asian Tour only having one tournament over the next two months, his move to the japan tour is limiting those long breaks and easing up the pressure to keep his ranking up with so few tournaments in Asia. He has to score on average 1.2 points every two weeks just to maintain his current ranking.
