I'm a long-term Hokie fan, and have been following the team and reading the board for a while - even before joining it officially in '18. You'll notice from my posts that unlike others I don't beat up the players for their periodic errors and misadventures. So I admit I'm a player-friendly poster, and think too often they get all the blame for the team's poor performance or record.

I'm more of the view that well-paid coaches (or at least those not having 'voluntary' unpaid status) should be held accountable for how a team's season unfolds. They're the ones selecting the lineup and pitching rotation each game, coaching (or neglecting to adequately coach) each player, identifying ways to maximize team and player strengths and minimize weaknesses, etc. Overall, I think Szefc is doing a pretty good job, and deserves time to continue his efforts. But I'm less sanguine about his top 2 assistants, having attended virtually every weekend home game and several road games since he and his staff took over, and I've observed numerous actions/decisions they make that give me serious pause.

As to whether this 3d straight summer of significant roster overhaul helps the team turn the corner, we'll just have to wait and see....
