No for a few reasons

Most who want it dead aren’t fans of the game anyway, it’s a vocal group trying to control society as they do with many other things. But, where they are finding they can make traction is through government targeting little league all the to high school and working their way up. So decline, maybe because the feeder system is being diminished. But if the NFL goes to far with its changes, something alternate will take its place because the fan support is there for football, not this other sport that it is slowly becoming.

Objectively is there danger to the people playing? Of course there is, but it’s voluntary just like auto racing, MMA, boxing, and really most sports to some extent. Soccer is more violent than most realize. So since when has this been the standard to disband a sport?

So in summary I’d strongly argue this is more about control of the culture, masculinity, and a lot of other BIG PICTURE things than it really is about head injury and football.
