They do that on ticket sales alone.


The ACC schools will never reach the revenue of the larger Big Ten schools with 100 thousand plus tickets sold per game. We're looking to close the gap on the revenue of what the conference pays out. But the larger Big Ten schools always have had and will continue to have larger revenue.

There are advantages to going last in that there is the ability to learn what not to do. And what the PAC 12 has done is an example of what not to do. ESPN was not going to do a network with the ACC until they proved the concept with the SEC after the Longhorn Network flop.
