I cut well over 300 calories a day over the last year, and my Cholesterol


technically went up.

When I was 50# heavier, total Cholesterol was right at 200. Today it is 211. Granted, my HDL is WAY up over that same time. So overall, still healthier.

Regardless, I would think any health benefits I'm seeing now vs. a year ago have more to do with the weight loss than the number of calories I eat.


I'm a little mystified by the suggestion that cutting 300 calories a day is a good idea for those already at an ideal, healthy weight, though.
