Donating to SERTC vs directly to the wrestling program

I believe I’ve heard a few folks on here stating it is more beneficial for the program as a whole to donate to SERTC rather than directly to the VT wrestling program, why is that? I doubt there is something that shows how $100 for each would be used, but I’d love to know.
