Hokie Golf Results- Week 29
In a week when golfers needed to position themselves for end of the season cutoffs, our Hokie golfers either stagnated or went backwards.
At the alternate field PGA event, the Barbasol open. Brendon de Jonge missed another cut. He has one more chance next week, but he has buried at #259 on the Fedex Cup. Johnson Wagner made the main cut, but missed the MDF cut for the third round. He still cashed $6,440, but he fell 5 more spots to #158. Wagner would need a win in the last two weeks to make the playoffs and would need a couple of top 10's to make the #150 cut to avoid the Web.com playoffs.
At the Korn Ferry Tour's Pinnacle Bank Championship, both golfers made their cuts. Drew Weaver finished T30, cashing $3,816, but he fell one more spot to #30 on the points list. Trevor Cone finished T35, cashing $2,990 moving up 6 spots to #135. He has a ton of work to do to finish in the top 75 and make the playoffs.
The PGA Tour China event had horrible weather, only completing two rounds. Joey Lane missed the cut this week anyways.
This upcoming week is a WGC week, so it's the last chance for PGA golfers to have a good week with most of the big hitters away.
