I agree that VT would need the new arena to be slightly bigger
than what JMU is building now. As far as the amenities go, I agree with you in the principle. However, I am not sure how much more "better" VT could go in comparison to what JMU plans to have in the new Convo.
While it would be nice to have TV monitors in every bathroom stall, an escalator to get to the upper levels, touch screen to order food/drink from your seat (and be delivered), and other luxury items, they may not be worth the additional cost. At least VT may have a more difficult time justifying a "need" for them or the increase in cost. Honestly, I am not opposing to the $120-150 million price tag for a new arena. I just want to make sure VT is "smart" on how it spends its money. Instead of VT spending the money for the sake of spending it.
