His entire career was spent in a "small time" market (Roanoke)... casting aspersions on the local team (VT) and extolling the virtues of a league (ACC) dominated by another market and state (NC). Yes, part of it was his "schtick"... but what legacy did he leave? I don't think people in Roanoke or NRV were sorry to see he leave the paper. So what's that all worth?
