Hokie Golf Preview-Week 31-PGA Reg. Season Finale
On the PGA Tour, it's scoreboard watching week as Johnson Wagner enters the Wyndham Championships trying to make the cut line for the playoffs or to a lesser extent a provisional card for next year. To make the playoffs, he would need at least 105 pts, which is a solo 6th. To break 150 and stay at the same status level for next year, he will need at least 19 pts. or a solo 37th. That of course depends on how other golfers do at well. But those are the minimums he would need to advance to those levels.
The Korn Ferry Tour has two events left in the regular season. This week we are at the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae, where Trevor Cone is the defending champion. We have two cutoffs to watch, top 75 make playoffs and top 25 make the PGA tour next year. Cone is currently #122, he needs at least a solo third to make the playoffs and a win to get his card. Drew weaver is in the field at #32, and is already solidly in the playoffs, he needs a solo 10th or better to move into the top 25.
Sarit Suwannarut missed the cut by one stroke on the Asian Development Tour this week.
