Yeah - that probably falls under expected homeowner maintenance.


Insurance isn't going to pay for you to replace your roof at a normal interval. Likewise, they probably won't pay to remove trees that "might" fall on your house. So you may not want to tell them that you have a decrepit tree close to your house - because now that you know there's a hazard and don't attempt to remove it, they may not cover you when it falls.
