My guess is
their algorithm for placing ads sometimes makes a wild guess based on a lot of things, your IP location (or the one they see), your browsing history (a college football site), your search history if you use gaggle or sites they can track you from, keywords in your g-mail account if you have one, and on and on. In the case of the Tennessee tickets, if that is from today, I am betting that Tennessee still has a bunch of tickets to sell and gaagle has agreed (for a fee perhaps) to place their ads anywhere and everywhere that might be a match - I really am making a wild guess here too.
