What I wish we could go back to is a time with no social media and no 24/7 "news" cycle. I'm fine with everyone having an actual telephone in their pocket... where you actually, you know, SPEAK to another human being... but the world would be a better place if we didn't all carry mobile computers and didn't spend all day staring at those screens and firing off meaningless messages, emoticons, and hot takes.

There is no doubt that text messaging, Twitter, and InstaSnapFace have dumbed our society down, increased rage and anxiety, and contributed greatly toward the over-amplification of the short-term feeding frenzy around events that most of us would have blissfully ignored a few years ago.
