I am not going to dispute someone closer to the action than I, but....

....“more than once” sounds like more of an outlier than a fact. Has it happened? I am certain it has; however, where does Blacksburg’s urban environment fall into the grand scheme of a player’s decision? I will always argue very low considering most of these “urban” kids have not been jet-setting from early childhood. TAMU has Houston and it’s major airport 100 miles away. Not to mention, TAMU has a “whiter” population than Blacksburg (both share 5 percent black population) at 81 percent. I’ll never be convinced that a kid that has been playing ball all of his life in and around a defined radius is going to concern himself with the need to “get away” from the basketball environment that the coaches are selling them.

With that said, I yield to your knowledge of the situation. And I accept that it is A factor. However, I will never be convinced Blacksburg is going to be the factor that prevents us from being a solid basketball program. I mean, hasn’t Buzz already put that to bed?
