Restaurant / Winery / Fun recommendation needed (Petersburg or North)

The Mrs. and I are driving down 95 from DC area to Petersburg for a late afternoon event. We could do the 3 hours down, then 3 hours back thing... but I am hoping to combine it with something fun. Maybe a cool restaurant or an awesome winery. It does not have to be in Petersburg... but anywhere along the way.
