Its priorities, VT graduate salaries leaving school very high

Higher than UVA and one of the top in the ACC. (BTW overall the ACC has the highest academics and graduate income leaving school).

ITs how you want to invest in it. With all the love for VT.. it is home, VT giving is very low - both academically and athletically. On the Academic side, they are doing very very well. Athletically, doing better but much more to get.

VT graduates while they make lots of money leaving school, many are moving to urban areas in the state but the nation. farrfrom blacksburg, Also, they have diverse interest, or other experiences where they make choices to use their income. VT is simply not a priority.

VT university branding is very aggressive. Especially in NOVA. With the significant investment in facilities and campuses. There is great opportunity to be 'the university of NOVA and basically dominate the Northern VA side. I don't see VT athletic department using their 'legs' to solicit interest (and their checkbooks both alumni and corporately. It takes more than a junior staffer on occasion to work a HARD market.

I realize its hard and tough, and if i were allocating limited funding, I put it in staffers for development (raising money), and extensive support staff for recruiting athletes (not coaches but basically recruiiters , like Clemson and Ala does ) reach out investigate with data analytics across the nation. and rake the best. Im a development guy who loves great facilities, but sometimes just more people is needed.
