I couldn't agree more
Virginia Tech is exactly where it needs to be and should be. It was stupid for Virginia Tech to need such a long time and acrobatic moves behind the scenes to get into the ACC. That never made sense to me. I like geographic based conferences because those are conferences built around and for the fans. I absolutely loathe the market based concept and fortunately, it has all but died as a selective factor.
As much as I think both WVU and Penn State should be in the ACC, neither are coming for different reasons. At Penn State Joe said no and there is no winning a fight with a ghost. At WVU, the ACC has been to hard on them each time they came asking and their pride is wounded over it. I think that door has closed.
Louisville is the school that makes no sense to be in the ACC. I understand why it happened and maybe it did keep FSU, GT and Clemson in the ACC. I am not convinced it ever got that close. The Cardinals should not be in the ACC in my opinion. That slot should have been UCONN and before them Rutgers. Geography, you know.
