I disagree with your take on the scholarships not being taxable.


There are several schools of thought being discussed. Tuition reimbursement is taxable above 5,250 I believe. If the athletes are an employee why would the tuition benefits they receive be treated differently? And whether tuition is taxed or not they would still pay taxes on everything else including their compensation. If they are all as broke as they claim who is paying that money? And are parents going to pay for tickets and travel benefits now?
