As the school would bill the student and the athletic department would reimburse. Most of the costs of school and medical etc would be billed to the student from the university then reimbursed by the athletic department who employs the student. That’s at least how a few folks I know in athletic departments have framed in. Regardless, no pot of money to pay players exists at most schools, so the likely first step is to whack the Olympic sports to fund the athlete payments. The easy solution is to let kids go pro when the turn 18. That way is kids want money they can go pro and the kids who want to get an education can go to college.
