When a new CEO comes on board, in this case Whit, he wants to hire his own people, loyal to him. Whit was receiving kudos for his hiring of Buzz. I doubt Bud was considered when JF was hired, because Whit would not get the credit for finding the hidden gem. As previously stated, demote current HC to OC, promote Bud to HC for the remainder of the year. Pay him what is necessary. Leave future HC decision until end of season. And maybe, JC's pride will lead him to leave on his own terms. Not a big fan of Sands, but it may come a time that he and the University will need to assist. Somehow money was found in the budget to house student over enrollment in town.
