I always enjoy talking to my dad (Notre Dame Class 79) about football because there are some echoes as to what’s happening to VT now. When ND went 4-8 in 2016, Brian Kelly reinvented himself, fired almost his entire staff and rebuilt his football program. He went 10-3 during the 2017 season.

Unfortunately, Fuente is too arrogant to do that and he’ll likely be fired after next season unless he axes Corney. But the lesson is that quick turnarounds are possible if Fuente sees the light.
