Remember the Peach Bowl against UGA?

We had a nice lead at halftime and then turn the ball over like 4 straight possessions and got whipped. It's EASY to around after the fact and claim that going conservative offensively is a bad idea. But the opposite can be a bad idea as well. If we dropped Hooker back a bunch and tried to attack them threw the air, there are a bunch of things that could've gone wrong. Stop the clock a lot, sacks, fumbles, INTs. If we lost to Miami the way we lost to UGA in the Peach Bowl, you'd be saying, "Why didn't the coaches just run the ball in the second half? There's no way Miami could've beaten us if we just took care of the ball!?"

Hindsight is EASY. Making decisions without the benefit of hindsight is much harder.

There were PLENTY of prognosticators during the game who were proven wrong -- in both directions. Because it isn't easy. I just wish people would acknowledge that it's easy to have a smart opinion when you have access to information the coaches didn't have access to when they had to make the decision.

I heard people saying the game was over when we were up 28-0. They were wrong. Someone else kept writing, "We know how this ends," implying VT was destined to lose once Miami started the comeback. He was wrong too.

Honestly, just acknowledge the benefit of hindsight and stop acting like you know one-millionth as much as Bud Foster about what defense to call when.
