Whit had 1 of 2 courses to take. 1) Accept what ECU did, smile, and continue on like nothing happened. In that case, we'd be playing ECU down in Greenville this year. 2) Fire ECU for what they did, and accept the short term consequences. Which meant for 2019, we'd end up playing somebody like URI.

If he had done #1, the fan base would have screamed bloody murder. Now that he did #2, some, many, of the fan base are howling bloody murder.

Whit, in less than a year, was never going to get even a semi decent replacement. I'm surprised, frankly, that he found anyone with even an echo of a pulse.
