He can not wrestle until ACC Tourney, and long as he places high enough for


a auto qualifying spot then he is in the NCAA tourney. There is no requirement with regards to number of matches wrestled.

Where it really hurts is the number of matches and results that you have at the weight that you are qualified for determines your NCAA rank. A good example is Joe Smith from OK ST. wrestled all last year at 174 (he beat McFadden). For the Big 12 tourney he moved down to 165 and finished high enough to qualify for NCAA's. Since he had limited matches at the weight he had to wrestle in pigtails, and then face #1 seed Marinelli in the first round. He ultimately lost that match and didn't end up AA'ing.

So it certainly is a tough route to go, if necessary.
