You're comparing apples and oranges for startersbut let's go...


One home football game equates to the excitement level of about 5 basketball games, so that's all built into the regular season.

Secondly, making the NCAA tournament is WAY, WAY, WAY easier than making the football playoff. 64 teams! You can lose 1/3 of your games and make the NCAA tournament. Try going 8-4 and making the playoff. There are a myriad of teams that routinely make the field of 64. Its not even that big a deal.

If we must compare, I'd compare an NCAA appearance to making a New Year's day bowl game, still far from a perfect comparison, but close as you can get.

When you're in the Final Four, you are actually talking about a real shot at a national title, similar to a playoff appearance, that's why they are similar.and also because.its the final four teams.
