Could be wrong on this --- but I thought VT's policy was to punish all crimes, whether felony or misdemeanor. This even includes off-campus crimes, home during summer, etc (assuming the school can somehow find out).

If so, I doubt VT would want to pick & choose which misdemeanors are "bad enough" to pursue.

That being said --- doesn't mean VT can't punish him as a student, but only warn him on the athlete side (and leave any punishment to the coaches & AD).
