will not be hindered if Notre Dame and some like minded schools decide to do their own thing. A full team will require more than just a few gifted players that might earn a scholarship and there will now be a need to provide aid in some other manner if they hope to have a chance to attract kids that can get paid elsewhere. The point was not that they have to accept the fact but, that the change in landscape will not allow them to compete otherwise. The NFL may very well create some kind of minor or development league if their no/low cost current alternative goes away but, it is the very rare case that any kid coming out of high school is remotely ready for the NFL. Consequently, the NFL will do everything in their power to avoid committing dollars to removing the 3 year rule. Things are going to change no doubt and just like most things that change will be about following the money.
