I think Willis' struggles are mainly confidence-related.
After starting the season on a bad note against BC where he at least seemed to be stepping into his passes (some of them ill-advised), he seemed to "turtle shell" in the following games out of fear of turning the ball over. He started throwing off his back foot and aiming the ball rather than just letting it rip. I think with the right sports psychologist and quarterback coach, Willis could be coached into an NFL QB. It's a shame it didn't pan out better for him in college, but perhaps he'll impress an NFL team enough in a workout that he will get drafted late or sign as an undrafted free agent. His arm strength and athleticism are definitely NFL-caliber, in my opinion.
