I agree the optics may be bad

However, if the NCAA can't prove intent in 2017, where is the line drawn in the sand on how far back the NCAA can hold everyone accountable? I guess I am just thinking about all the different times when I interacted with adults as a youth and the adult performed an act of kindness towards me. If I had played collegiate sports, then could the NCAA rule me ineligible due to those "acts of kindness" because the NCAA deemed the adult to be a "booster" even if I didn't know it at the time? Now that I am an adult could my "act of kindness" to a youth (elementary or middle school age) today cause the youth to be later ruled ineligible by the NCAA because said youth decided to play a sport at VT and I am a "booster" of VT?
