On a more serious note, it will be interesting to see how the NCAA rules (assuming he applies for a waiver after the season is over). Personally, I believe the NCAA should grant a waiver any time a player misses a season due to injury. Then again, I believe the redshirt should be used to allow incoming freshmen to acclimate to academics and the sport at the collegiate level.
