I didn't see UVA receivers winning 1-on-1 matchups with our DBs. I saw UVA receivers running wide open with no defender within 5 yards of them when they caught the ball. Which leads me to think that we were in fact sitting back in a zone for most of those plays.

Perkins is super athletic but he's not super accurate. Many times yesterday we saw him throw worm burners when we did have 1-on-1 coverage on the receivers. So why we would not stick to man coverage rather than giving him open areas of the field to throw to is beyond me. As much as Corn/Fu were deservedly criticized for getting conservative at the wrong times, I think Bud did the same. We have not been a good zone team all year and this game was no different.
