The house had ADT. Prior owners lost the password. Every time you opened a window or door, it would sound. Eventually, it started beeping and would not stop. I called ADT and was told I’d have to sign up for monitoring to be able to change the password so they could tell me which sensor was causing the problem. Eventually, they told me which wire to disconnect in the box to shut down the entire system. So if you have ADT and lots of valuables, let me know your address and holiday schedule.

With the Ring system, we have the doorbell camera and two spotlight cams. One over the garage door that picks up anything in the driveway. The other is in the screened porch and also covers the outside steps to the basement.
Doorbell is hardwired. Spotlight cams WiFi. The spotlight cam over garage is great as it lights up the area when we get home late.
All are connected to our phones and iPads. All three have sound so we can talk to whomever shows up. That feature has been great as we get lots of random “tree” guys showing up unannounced. They freak out a bit once I speak to them and they know they are being videotaped.
Easy to set up.
