Why? It is a business. He'd have gotten paid. Honor. Time in.
If (and I hadn't heard this) he was indeed offered the chance to be a part of the bowl, and declined, that comes off as emotional.
Whether that helps or hurts his future prospects would be beyond me.
CW knows how this business works, and knows it is a biz of hirings and firings. When his came, he might have had a plan w/ foresight and all that. I dig CW, but he doesn't strike me as a DC type.
