In Bud’s defense—Db’s were at the top of the foodchain


Over the years, we had a lot of good but undersized guys in the front 7 but as long as we had a steady supply of NFL caliber DBs (especially cover corners) we consistently produced high quality d’s. You take that away, and the bottom falls out - see 2018. Or 2014 when Kendall Fuller went down.
