The Buzz hire was one of the biggest steals in CBB history. He was exactly what our program needed at the time. Not too easy convincing a young, very successful coach to leave for a struggling program for less money. Whit got it done though, stunning all of the CBB world. Last I checked Buzz has been the only VT coach go to three straight NCAAs at VT. The contract was the cost of doing business, i.e., making VT basketball relevant again (and more relevant than ever before).

Finally, you are in a small minority who thinks MY wasn't a good hire. Most initial doubters now concede that was a homerun hire because, well, it was. MY can flat coach basketball...find me one person who says otherwise. Also, his staff, all of them can recruit their tail off...don't we have two top-100 recruits coming next year?
